Queen's University
My Role
Senior Design Leader, leading UX direction and information architecture for the strategic plan website, partnering with the creative director, the University, institutional stakeholders, content teams, and strategists to translate complex priorities into a clear, accessible digital experience.
Objective
Queen’s University required an engaging, intuitive digital experience to communicate its institutional strategy, making complex priorities clear, cohesive, and inspiring for a diverse audience. The website needed to translate the University’s vision into an accessible narrative structured around six strategic pillars: research impact, student learning, research and teaching integration, global engagement, community connection, and organizational culture.
The goal was to ensure that students, families, faculty, staff, and external partners could easily understand where the University is headed and why it matters.
Strategic Context
At the heart of the project was Queen’s commitment to its people, their curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit. The platform was designed to reflect these values while functioning as a clear, user-centered resource for navigating institutional priorities.
The challenge was not only visual, but structural: transforming a complex strategic framework into a coherent digital system that balanced storytelling, clarity, and accessibility across audiences.
Approach & Direction
The experience was structured around the six strategic goals, using clear information architecture, intuitive navigation, and integrated video storytelling to guide users through the University’s vision. Each section was designed to support exploration while maintaining consistency across the broader system, ensuring alignment between content, hierarchy, and user intent.
Scope & Deliverables
• UX and information architecture
• Responsive website design
• Integrated video content and storytelling
All elements were designed to work together as part of a scalable, future-ready digital framework.
