Mazda CSR Report 2025
My Role
Senior Design Leader, leading visual direction and design system evolution for Mazda’s CSR reporting, in close collaboration with strategy, content, and account teams.
Objective
Building on the success of the FY158 report, the objective was to evolve the visual system for Mazda’s 2025 CSR report, bringing the theme “Making well-being our road to a brighter future” to life while maintaining brand consistency and credibility.
The report needed to clearly articulate how wellness, flexibility, and inclusivity support Mazda’s long-term vision for a more sustainable future.
Strategic Context
The concept explores the connection between driving and well-being, positioning mobility as more than transportation, but as an enabler of reflection, connection, and balance. By highlighting journeys into nature and shared experiences, the report reframes driving as an opportunity to recharge, gain perspective, and support mental and emotional health.
The design approach needed to express this narrative while respecting the structure, rigor, and expectations of a corporate sustainability report.
Design Concept
A greener way forward.
The visual system blends dynamic motion with organic elements, symbolizing harmony between innovation, nature, and human experience. The approach reinforces Mazda’s belief that technology and well-being can coexist, and that progress should feel purposeful and human.
Design Rationale
A natural, grounded color palette, including maroon, slate grey, and ocean blue, reflects both environmental calm and Mazda’s refined brand language. Warm lighting adds emotional depth, supporting the theme of well-being without compromising clarity or professionalism.
Clean, spacious layouts balance structured grids with organic forms, creating a sense of flow and openness while maintaining strong information hierarchy and readability.
